Choose by the destination after the airport

Direct coaches run to Roma Termini
The airport’s official bus directory lists the operators and destinations serving Ciampino, including direct services to Termini. Treat each company as a separate service: check the name on the ticket, the current departure point and the conditions for a delayed flight.
A coach can be convenient for a Termini stay because it removes the rail change at Ciampino station. Traffic can affect the journey, so leave a proper margin before a fixed train departure. Save the exact Rome stop rather than relying on a broad label such as “city centre”.
Ciampino Airlink combines a bus and a train
Trenitalia’s Ciampino Airlink guide describes a combined journey: a bus connects the airport with Ciampino railway station, where regional trains continue towards Rome. Search for Ciampino Aeroporto in the journey planner so the airport bus is included rather than beginning the search at the railway station.
Trenitalia currently describes the airport-to-station bus as a direct ride of about ten minutes. That is one leg, not the complete trip to Rome or to your accommodation. Check the live itinerary, combined fare and connection for your date. The operator also states that the airport bus portion is not sold separately through its systems.

Anagnina is useful only for the right final journey
The airport directory also lists services to Roma Anagnina, the eastern terminus of Metro A. This can reduce backtracking for some destinations on that line, but it adds a change and may be awkward with large bags or limited mobility. Check the current bus timetable and the Metro’s operating hours before choosing it.

Allow for baggage collection and the final connection
Look up the final useful departure for the travel date and allow for the time between landing and reaching the stop. Confirm that the Metro, train, bus or hotel check-in needed after the airport transfer will still be available. A listed airport departure is not a promise that the whole chain will work after a delay.
