Check for TSF, not VCE
This guide covers Treviso Airport, TSF. If the booking says VCE, use the Marco Polo Airport transfer guide. The airports have different services and departure points.
Choose the arrival point before the ticket
| Where you need to go | Compare first | The final leg |
|---|---|---|
| Historic Venice | Direct bus to Piazzale Roma | A walk with bridges or a separate waterbus |
| Mestre accommodation | A direct airport bus serving Mestre | The named stop and route to the property |
| Venezia Santa Lucia by rail | MOM bus to Treviso Centrale, then train | The live interchange and the walk from Santa Lucia |
| Lido or another island | Piazzale Roma or Santa Lucia, then waterbus | Current line, direction and final island stop |
“Venice” can mean the historic city, Mestre on the mainland or an island reached by boat. Confirm the accommodation address first. Our Venice and Mestre accommodation guide explains the trade-offs.
Direct buses serve Piazzale Roma and Mestre
The airport’s official Venice transport page lists direct coach connections to Piazzale Roma, the road-transport edge of historic Venice. The general transport directory also identifies services for Mestre and their current operators.
Piazzale Roma is not San Marco and it is not a hotel drop-off. From there, continue on foot or by waterbus. The airport describes Santa Lucia station as a short walk across the Calatrava Bridge, but allow more time with bags, children or limited mobility rather than using a published walking estimate as a connection guarantee.
Check the operator named on the ticket, its departure point, luggage rules and delay conditions. Different airport coaches are not one interchangeable service.
The rail alternative begins with a local bus
Treviso Airport has no railway platform. The airport’s Treviso connection page identifies the MOM local bus between the airport and Treviso city or Treviso Centrale. From the station, check a live rail itinerary to Venezia Santa Lucia or Venezia Mestre, whichever matches the stay.
This can be useful when the timetable fits or when you prefer to finish by train, but it adds an interchange. Check whether the bus and train require separate tickets, how each must be validated and how much time the change allows with luggage. Do not treat a typical connection as a guaranteed one.
If you arrive at the island terminus, use the Venezia Santa Lucia station guide for the Grand Canal exit and Ferrovia waterbus stops.
Santa Lucia and Mestre are different stations
Venezia Santa Lucia is in historic Venice; Venezia Mestre is on the mainland. A room in Mestre may be easier from a direct airport bus, while a historic-centre stay usually needs Piazzale Roma or Santa Lucia followed by a walk or waterbus. Compare the complete route to the door before choosing the transfer.
For the waterbus leg, continue with the Venice vaporetto guide. Keep airport-coach, local-bus, railway and ACTV tickets distinct: one product does not automatically cover the other operators.

Work backwards for an early or late flight
Start with the airline’s required airport arrival time, then add the full journey: accommodation, bridges or boat, bus or train connection and the walk into the terminal. For an arrival, include baggage collection and check that the final waterbus, local bus or hotel check-in will still work.
If no public transport gives a comfortable margin, compare an authorised taxi or a prearranged transfer and confirm the total fare, meeting point and destination. For an evening departure, place bags with the Venice luggage guide rather than creating an avoidable return across bridges.
Save these details before travelling
- The booking says TSF and the accommodation address is saved.
- I know whether I need Piazzale Roma, Mestre or Santa Lucia.
- The operator, stop and live departure match my ticket.
- I have allowed for the change, bridges and luggage.
- I know the final useful connection and have a fallback.
