Match both the station name and the operator
Napoli Centrale is the mainline terminal. Napoli Piazza Garibaldi, ANM Metro Garibaldi and EAV Napoli Garibaldi are connected within the wider station area, but their platforms, operators and tickets are different. A sign containing “Garibaldi” is not enough to identify your train.
Use the station map to understand the levels
Start with the exact wording in the journey result. Mainline departures use Napoli Centrale; other journeys may send you to a lower-level Garibaldi service. The official station page and map show the terminal and the Piazza Garibaldi complex. Use the map to understand the layout, then follow the operator signs in use when you travel.
Match the live departure before entering the platform area
Read Partenze and match the train number, time and operator. The destination shown on the board may be beyond your stop. Wait for the live Binario assignment and check it again if the display changes.

The official RFI station page lists 23 passenger tracks and advises travellers in the station to follow its audio and visual information. Do not reuse a platform number from an earlier trip.
Choose the connection for your next address
The main station frontage faces Piazza Garibaldi. From this transport area you can connect with Metro Line 1, other urban or regional rail services, buses, taxis and airport transport. Confirm the operator, direction and boarding point before leaving the main hall.

ANM identifies Garibaldi as a Metro Line 1 station. Our Naples public transport guide explains the other transport layers and ticket decisions. For an EAV journey, check the operator’s current timetable and notices rather than assuming a mainline ticket applies.
Arrange assistance and keep luggage out of the interchange
RFI lists a Sala Blu assistance service at Napoli Centrale. Arrange help in advance and use the meeting instructions confirmed for your journey. RFI also warns that temporary equipment outages and the difference between platform and train height can change practical accessibility.
The RFI station page lists a luggage deposit among the station services. Confirm current opening conditions before relying on it, or compare alternatives in our luggage storage planning guide.
- The ticket names the intended Napoli or Garibaldi station.
- I know which operator runs the next service.
- The live display matches the train number and time.
- I allowed time to move between levels and platforms.
- The Metro, bus, taxi or walking exit fits my next address.
- Any assistance and luggage arrangements are confirmed.
