Firenze Santa Maria Novella, often shortened to Firenze S. M. Novella or Firenze SMN. It is the central station used by our Florence routes. Firenze Campo di Marte is a different station, so match the name on every result before booking.
Find your bearings before leaving the station
On arrival, follow Uscita signs towards an exit, but check the exact route to your accommodation before starting the walk. The official station guide and floor plan can help you locate the halls, exits and services. Treat the plan as an orientation aid and follow the signs in use at the station.
Firenze SMN connects with city buses and trams. A central address may be walkable, but luggage, heat and uneven paving can change the useful choice. Compare the whole route to the door before joining the busiest flow outside.
Match the live departure by train number
Use Partenze to find the train number and scheduled time on your ticket. The destination shown on the board may be beyond your stop. Wait for the current Binario assignment and recheck it before entering the platform area.
RFI lists 19 passenger tracks and advises passengers in the station to follow its audio and visual information. Do not plan around a platform remembered from an earlier journey; assignments and access arrangements can change.
Keep the ticket ready at the platform access lanes
The controlled lanes are part of the route from the concourse to the platforms. Keep the correct ticket for this leg and any required ID easy to reach. Follow the green lane indicators and current staff instructions rather than copying another passenger through a lane.
